Project: Geometron is inspired by the Mathematical Universe Hypothesis (MUH), and created by Çağıl Aygen (aka. bolddesigner). The project expresses the designer’s approach as a form of digital art while defining the transformation between the physical existence to the computer-based virtual world.
Geometron is a project based on cosmologist Max Tegmark’s MUH, “Everything in the universe – humans included– is part of a mathematical structure. Mathematical existence equals physical existence, and all structures that exist mathematically exist physically as well.” It means math does not just describe the universe but makes the universe, so the designer argues that there are no differences between a computer-based world and a physical world. Based on the fact that everything in the virtual world exists in “binary” –– the language of 1’s and 0’s, that makes the metaverse existence part of the universe. The art project reflects the infinite cycle of the universe between this two worlds.

      LIMITED SERIES OF 5

The Platonic solids are prominent in the philosophy of Plato. He associated each of the four elements –earth, air, water, and fire– with a regular solid. Earth was associated with the Hexahedron⁽¹⁾, Air with the Octahedron⁽²⁾, Water with the Icosahedron⁽³⁾, and Fire with the Tetrahedron⁽⁴⁾. In the fifth Platonic solid, the Dodecahedron⁽⁵⁾, Plato obscurely remarked, “…the god used [it] for arranging the constellations on the whole Heaven“. The Platonic Solids series is limited with only 5 animated NFT artwork.

geo + metron    /”jēō/ /ˈmɛtrɒn/   noun
The earliest known unambiguous examples of written records—dating from Egypt and Mesopotamia about 3100 BCE—demonstrate that ancient peoples had already begun to devise mathematical rules and techniques useful for surveying land areas, constructing buildings, and measuring storage containers. Beginning about the 6th century bce, the Greeks gathered and extended this practical knowledge and from it generalized the abstract subject now known as geometry, from the combination of the Greek words geo “Earth” and metron “measure”.
For the first time working on a personal art project, he is an award-winning brand and type designer with over 15 years of experience in the design field with an academic background. In 2020, he founded his design studio, vve.design, in Milan, Italy. While he has had an active role as its creative director, he also gives visual branding consultancy services to various companies worldwide, from China to the USA, Italy to Turkey. In the early stage of his career, he was an illustrator deeply passionate about vector art. A characteristic part of his style was using defined and abstract geometrical forms with bold and flat colors. With his first-ever art project, Geometron, he wants to express his passion for math with modern-retro style.
